I have been called and am founding a Missionary Training Center.

Nick, Efrain, Lisa, and I are now the Companions of the Holy Spirit.

A Board of Directors has been established with a 501c3.

Who will be missionaries and what is their work in the parish?

If you are reading this post you probably know how powerfully God moves at our Parish Missions, transforming people’s lives. Imagine if a trained team of missionaries stayed at the parish for a year to keep the revival going. Truly, the parish would be set on fire!

When I was 15 years old, Jesus drew me to himself, and I fell in love. He became my life. I wanted everyone to know him and to enjoy the life he gives us through his Church. It was then that the desire to be a missionary was placed in my heart. Also, at 15 years old, the Lord laid upon my heart that someday I would found a Missionary Training Center.

I have been preaching Parish Mission Weeks all around the US since 1996. Right from the start I have invited and trained others to join me in ministry. For the past 15 years, I have trained Nick Villalobos and Efrain Roman as missionaries with them joining in ministry at the Parish Missions. At one point, Nick and Efrain lived together, under my direction, in Community, as missionaries. Efrain married Lisa and they are now blessed with 2 children. 9 months ago, Nick, Efrain, Lisa, and I became the Companions of the Holy Spirit with the purpose of being the Formation Team for a Missionary Training Center. Since then, the Lord has also sent us a brother who is highly experienced in helping Catholic ministries attain the funding they need for their work in the Kingdom, the funding we will need to purchase the land and facilities for the Center. I established a Board of Directors to obtain a 501c3, tax-deductible status. The Board of Directors appointed me as the Executive Director. 

As Executive Director, my full-time work will be to prepare to approach Charitable Foundations to receive funding for the Center. From a business perspective, and in producing all we will need to form the missionaries that will be coming to us, there is much for me to do, and I am ready to do the work. 

The missionaries will be young adults between 22 and 32 years old, those with some life experience, committing to at least two years of service to the Church. Nine months of their time will be at the Missionary Training Center being formed in communal life, spiritual formation, and formation in the methods they will use for their mission at a parish. After we present a Parish Mission Week, four missionaries will be left at the parish for one year, at no expense to the parish, to continue the revival that began at the Mission Week. 

When on mission, the missionaries’ work will be to build relationships with parishioners and the local community. At the Parish Mission Week we will announce the beginning of our School of Discipleship. One of the goals of the School of Discipleship will be to help parishioners build Home-Based Communities (HBCs) which St Pope John Paul II saw as the future of the Church, thus the parish becoming a Community of Communities. My Vision for a Parish:

A vibrant parish is

individual souls on-fire for Jesus as well as on-fire marriages bringing forth strong families.

These souls and families coming together with other souls and families, 

becoming Home-Based Communities, truly brothers and sisters in Jesus.

The Home-Based Communities will gather for the Sunday Liturgy 

Being a leaven to bring about a vibrant parish, 

naturally reaching out to the world, inviting all into a Life Together in Jesus.

The New Pentecost School of Discipleship is built upon Catholic Renewal Movements including the Charismatic Renewal (tools by Presentation Ministries, myself, and others resources to form on-fire souls and HBCs), Marriage Encounter (on-fire marriages), and Cursillo (strong, on-fire brotherhood and sisterhood). Missionaries will emphasize the importance of Daily Mass and the praying the Liturgy of the Hours. The base commitment of those in the School of Discipleship will be to meditate on the Gospel from Daily Mass, the Church’s simplest method of forming disciples.
